Acrylic Laser Dotting Light Guide Plate, High Uniformity Edge Lit LGP Manufacturer
Introduction
Edge-lit acrylic light guide plate (LGP) is the core optical component for ultra-thin light boxes, backlit signage, infinity mirror, panel lighting and decorative ambient lighting. Among all manufacturing methods, laser dotting technology has gradually replaced traditional screen printing LGP, becoming the mainstream high-end solution for stable brightness, uniform illumination, environmental compliance and long service life.
Our factory specializes in custom laser dotting acrylic LGP with precise optical design, strict dot layout simulation, stable batch consistency, supporting small-batch prototype trial and mass customized production for global buyers.
How Laser Dotting LGP Works
LGP itself is made of high-transmission optical-grade PMMA acrylic sheet, no self-luminous property. LED strips are installed on one or multiple edges to inject light inside the panel.
- Professional optical software simulates light attenuation, designs variable dot size & density distribution: dots get denser and larger farther from light source to compensate light loss
- High-precision CO₂ laser carves tiny micro-indentations on acrylic backside in non-contact mode
- Internal total reflection light hits laser dots, refracts upward and emits evenly from front surface
- Matched with reflective film on back and diffuser film on front to maximize light utilization, eliminate bright spots & dark zones
Complete Production Process of Laser Dotting LGP
- Raw Material Selection: Adopt virgin cast optical acrylic sheet (4-5H surface hardness, high molecular weight), avoid low-stability extruded acrylic to prevent yellowing and light decay
- Optical Dot Pattern Design: Custom layout according to size, thickness, LED position and brightness requirement; precision tolerance ±0.01mm per dot
- Automatic Laser Dotting: Digital one-step forming, no screen mold needed, flexible pattern adjustment
- Precision Cutting & Edge Polishing: CNC cutting to custom shape, edge flame polishing to maximize light inlet efficiency
- Film Lamination (Optional): Paste reflective sheet on rear, diffuser sheet on front for softer, uniform lighting
- Strict Optical Inspection: Test luminance uniformity, spot defect, light decay rate before packaging and delivery
